The studs have selected ready-to-run horses, so there’s no waiting for a yearling to be broken in and pre-trained before you can see your horse hit the track. We will be racing as soon as you join up!

The SRC foundation stable is represented by stud farms in the heart of horse country in Cambridge and Matamata. We always endeavour to make it easy for you to keep connected to your stable through trainer visits and stud tours. We have a strong focus on horse welfare, from their racing career right through to life after racing. Our aim is to provide you with front-row insights into what it takes to prepare and care for high-performing thoroughbreds, while educating and strengthening your connection to the sport and horse.

The Stride Racing Club Syndicate looks after the racing side of the club - authorised by the sport’s governing body NZ Thoroughbred Racing. See full details here.

Gimmegoosebumps runs a nice 3rd

Gimmegoosebumps ran a strong 3rd at Matamata on the 12th January over 1200m. Check out the race replay here. It looks like a step up to 1400m will really suit next start.

Unfortunately Serenella has had to be retired before she could even hit the racetrack. A replacement filly is on the way soon.

Capriccio retires

After sustaining a knee injury, unfortunately Capriccio has been retired. It's a real blow as she was showing significant talent in work and at the trials.

Rageese - Aroon
3 year-old filly

By exciting young sire Rageese, she showed plenty in her preparations particularly in her trials.

Check out stud master Roddy Schick talking about Gimmegoosebumps.

She finished her latest prep with a close-up 5th at Rotorua.

After a 3 week break she came back into work a much stronger filly. She's due to trial again in December and then onto the races.

Stephen Marsh

As the trainer of five Group One winners including the 2019 New Zealand Derby with Crown Prosecutor, Stephen continues to excel year on year. After a record breaking season in terms of winners in 2018/19, having trained 97 winners, Stephen had a stellar Covid-impacted year in 2019/20 finishing 2nd on the trainers’ premiership, as he did in 2020/21. He has established himself as one of the top trainers in New Zealand.

Windsor Park Stud

For three decades the Windsor Park Stud name and S brand has been synonymous with many of the finest racehorses produced in Australasia and further afield. Dual Australian Horse of The Year and World Champion Stayer, Might and Power is a classic example of the type of high-class international performer bred by Windsor Park Stud over the years.

Per Incanto - World Away filly

She’s a lovely 2yo Per Incanto filly out of World Away (out of a Group 1 winning mare from the US).

Per Incanto has been flying of late being the top sire in Hong Kong this past season. This filly is World Away’s second foal with the first being ultra-impressive first-start winner Karman Line check this out. Our filly was broken in back in April and had a stint in training before heading out for a break. She’s back in pre-training and will be trained by Allan Sharrock who has one of the best strike-rates around. Can’t wait to see what this filly can do on the track. She’s a big, impressive filly so hopefully she can run up to her looks.

Allan Sharrock

One of the best in the business, Allan has a strike-rate second to none. A leading trainer in the central/lower North Island our World Away filly will be in great hands.

Allan has trained almost 900 winners including close to 60 Group and Listed winners.

Little Avondale Stud

Little Avondale is a lush 283 acre property in the beautiful Wairarapa valley just north of New Zealand's capital, Wellington.

Little Avondale also boasts its own strong group of quality broodmares - a band that has grown and developed since 1940, thanks to the founding partnership of Alister and Nancy Williams.

These mares, along with our resident sires Per Incanto and Nadeem, who in 2018 were joined by The National Stud's Time Test, enable us to offer outstanding New Zealand thoroughbreds to an international market that's going from strength to strength.

At LA, we pride ourselves on boutique brilliance. This means you're assured that every horse that spends time at LA gets the individual attention required to maximise its potential.
