Get a piece of the action

Your stable includes two 2-year-olds and a proven race winner, with the plan to always have a horse in work and racing. The studs have selected ready-to-run horses, so there’s no waiting for a yearling to be broken in and pre-trained before you can see your horse hit the track. We will be racing as soon as you join up!

The SRC foundation stable is represented by stud farms in the heart of horse country in Cambridge and Karaka, South Auckland. We always endeavour to make it easy for you to keep connected to your stable through trainer visits and stud tours. We have a strong focus on horse welfare, from their racing career right through to life after racing. Our aim is to provide you with front-row insights into what it takes to prepare and care for high-performing thoroughbreds, while educating and strengthening your connection to the sport and horse.

The Stride Racing Club Syndicate looks after the racing side of the club - authorised by the sport’s governing body NZ Thoroughbred Racing. See full details here.

Gimmegoosebumps back in work

Gimmegoosebumps has gone back into work on June 1 to get ready for a Spring campaign. She's had 10 weeks in the paddock at Windsor Park where she's thrived and put on some lovely condition.  Check out her video here before she headed back to Marsh Racing.

Baby Face ran a slashing 4th over 1600m at Ellerslie on 29th May. She'll go back to Ellerslie on the 7th June for a R74 2200m where she should be a huge chance.

Capriccio trials well

Capriccio had her first trial at Avondale and went really well finishing close-up behind the placegetters.  She missed the start by about 3 lengths, showed good pace to pick up the field and cantered down the straight without any room.  It was a great learning experience and she'll have a quick spell before returning to the stable to get ready for a Spring campaign. Check out her trial here

Baby Face

Savabeel - Baby Shacks
5 year-old mare

By Champion sire Savabeel, Baby Face is a race-winning mare ready for an exciting campaign. She's had 11 starts for two wins and four placings, and has always shown plenty of ability.

She’s a lovely mare that is very easy to do anything with. She’s been a slow maturer but has been given the time to develop and we are hopeful this will be her best season yet. If we can get her to go through the grades then she could potentially be placed into the right sort of cup races as a staying mare.

Capriccio

Showcasing - Cantana
2 year-old filly

An athletic filly who thrived in her first prep.

She has had quite a thorough first main prep, where she has had to learn the art of galloping at speed, on her own and with other horses.  She is handling it all well though, and her condition and attitude is good. She does look as though she is just starting another growth phase, so she'll go out for a wee break now.

Trainer - Stephen McKee

She had a good break at Haunui Farm, has been back in the stable for around two months and trialed nicely at Avondale on 11 May. Trial video. She'll have a short break before returning to the stable early June to get ready for a Spring campaign.

Her mum Cantata had plenty of speed - check out one of her winning trials

Gimmegoosebump

Rageese - Aroon
2 year-old filly

By exciting young sire Rageese, she showed plenty in her two preparations.

Has had a good first prep for us which involved two jump-outs. She made great progress and after a 4-week break has now re-joined the stable. This time in we’ll look to further her education and work towards a trial and see where we can get to from there. She’s a filly with a bit of personality in the stable but has been easy to do anything with.

Check out stud master Roddy Schick talking about Gimmegoosebumps

She finished her 2nd prep with a nice couple of trials and an educational first start.  She's now had a well deserved 10-week break at Windsor Park Stud and has gone back into Marsh Racing on June 1. She's really strengthened up and will be ready to show her best in Spring.
